A showcase of creativity and talent in fashion design, bridalwear, fashion marketing and communication, fashion product management, and interior design for hotels and food & beverage spaces

During July, students from the IED Barcelona Master's and Postgraduate programmes who completed their studies this month presented their final projects. More than fifty works showcasing the knowledge, techniques and learning acquired throughout their time at the school, demonstrating how their creativity and talent have been taken to the next level.

In the case of the Master in Fashion Design, the Open Space at the Point One building was transformed into a genuine runway, where visitors could discover looks inspired by the passage of time, personal dualities and the hyper-productivity of capitalism, among other themes. These creations stood out for their excellent technical execution and were developed using a rich variety of fabrics (including both natural and synthetic textiles, as well as vintage materials), diverse colour palettes (ranging from neutral to saturated and vibrant tones) and an abundance of contrasting silhouettes (from highly structured to flowing designs, some featuring exaggerated volumes and sharp lines, others characterised by soft, delicate and organic shapes).

Students from the Postgraduate Programme in Wedding and Ceremony Dresses Design, meanwhile, created two collections: one personal collection and another for bridal designer and IED alumna Cristina Tamborero, inspired by the world of the Palace of Versailles. The proposals ranged from romantic to architectural, evoking the mazes of the palace gardens, with bridal looks predominantly in neutral tones, beige and off-white, complemented by touches of colour such as dusty pink, blue and grey. As for the fabrics, the predominance of tulle, organza, crepe and taffeta was complemented by natural materials such as linen and cotton, chosen for collections committed to sustainability through patterns designed to adapt easily to a wide variety of body shapes.

The thesis presentations for the Master in Interior Design for Hotels, Gastronomic and Commercial Spaces took place at the Almanac Hotel, where students unveiled proposals for the redesign of various spaces within the establishment.

Finally, students from the Master in Fashion Marketing and Communication and the Postgraduate Programme in Fashion Product Management also presented their final projects.
