IED Alumni Desk Show is a video podcast created to give voice to the many protagonists of creative work and authoritative voices who are redefining the way we create, collaborate, and design.

Profound changes are transforming the way we live and create. Today, more than ever, the real question is not “what to design,” but “what not to design,” through an approach guided by a plural intelligence.

The series brings together hybrid, empathetic, and innovative creatives who are redefining how to design a better life on a planet with finite resources and multiple, still-to-be-interpreted languages.

The project also benefits from the contribution of the Observatory within the IED Career Alumni and Industries Engagement department — an initiative that gathers and analyzes specific data in collaboration with companies and Alumni, to explore emerging professions and new hybridizations within the creative sector.

Produced in collaboration with the video factory EEZEE — a collective of designers, filmmakers, creatives, and communication professionals, including several IED Alumni — the first episode is now available on YouTube, SpotifyApple Music.

Each episode recording is also a live event held at IED Milano and IED Torino, open to everyone and followed by a Cocktail Party & DJ Set.

Ep.02: BE MORE ANIMAL TO DESIGN LIKE A HUMAN

Post-anthropocentric design practices

📅 When: November 19, 2025 | 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM
📍 Where: IED Milan, Via Amatore Sciesa, 5 | Room S10
After the recording: Cocktail Party & DJ Set 🎶

Guests:

  • Anna Citelli & Raoul Bretzel – Designers. Through their project Capsula Mundi, they reinterpreted a traditional and untouchable object — the coffin — by proposing a biodegradable, egg-shaped capsule and a tree instead of a tombstone.

  • Dunia Rahwan – Animal well-being communicator. Journalist, biologist, and dog trainer specialized in behavioral science.

  • Alberto Ricca aka Bienoise – Sound designer, IED Milan Alumnus and lecturer. He composes computer music, exploring non-musical elements such as noise, errors, and the hidden sounds within them, stimulating conscious listening and contemplation.
